San Diego PR Agency Bolsters Government Relations and Agriculture Capabilities

Dylan Lomanto Joins Nuffer, Smith, Tucker as Government Relations and Public Affairs Specialist

In support of growing client needs for government affairs and California agriculture industry connections, Nuffer, Smith, Tucker (NST) adds Dylan Lomanto as a government relations and public affairs specialist.

Lomanto brings valuable experience to the San Diego PR agency’s government affairs practice along with significant experience working in California agriculture. Having previously served as a legislative aide for California State Assembly Agriculture Committee Chair Robert Rivas for nearly three years, Lomanto draws from real world government affairs experience in service of NST’s agriculture and public entity clients.

Supporting the assembly member on key issue areas such as agriculture, water and natural resources allowed Lomanto to build out a broad and deep understanding of the regulatory and policy frameworks linked to agriculture. Lomanto also navigated complex policy and established robust relationships with industry leaders and key state and regional contacts. Cultivating these relationships gave Lomanto a strong connection to California’s agriculture industry and the key stakeholders within it.

“My deep understanding of California’s agricultural landscape is rooted in a personal passion and connection to the land, having grown up on a walnut farm in Hollister, California,” says Lomanto. “I still go back home every fall to help my family harvest, and I’m eager to bring my practical comprehension of what it takes to cultivate a crop, along with a unique understanding of agricultural policy to NST and its impressive roster of clients.”

At NST, Lomanto will support government relations and industry outreach for the California Citrus Pest & Disease Prevention Program, administered by the California Department of Food & Agriculture, among other clients. He will concentrate on building relationships and partnerships with local and state elected officials on behalf of the program. Lomanto will also contribute to Food Foresight, the world’s first trends intelligence system designed for the agri-food chain. As the architect of Food Foresight, NST keeps its finger on the pulse of agricultural and consumer trends with insider intelligence that can serve as a launching point for assisting agricultural partners with strategic planning, issues management and stakeholder engagement programs.

“Dylan’s distinct experience at the cross section of government and agriculture provides a unique set of skills and strategies he can apply in support of our clients,” says Teresa Siles, president and partner at NST. “There is no question that his expertise and perspective provide significant value to our agriculture and government agency partners as they navigate issues and build on opportunities.”
