Giving Back During a Year that Took So Much

At NST, we believe strongly in supporting each other and being willing to lend a hand – so much so it’s one of our organization’s core values. Not only do we hold each other to this commitment, but we recognize and honor these qualities in our client partners and our communities.

This year, there are few individuals who have embodied this value more than the brave nurses across the globe, who continue to support others and selflessly serve on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.

More than heroes, they’re innovators, exploring new ways to tackle the unique challenges of this unprecedented, international health crisis. It’s this explorative spirit that we want to honor by helping nurses bring their best ideas to life through the Johnson & Johnson Nurses Innovate QuickFire Challenge, hosted by JLABS (the innovation arm of Johnson & Johnson) together with the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA). This challenge invites nurses worldwide to submit their nurse-led ideas, programs, protocols, prevention or treatment approaches, screening tools and consumer product ideas with the power to potentially transform mental health care and well-being amid the current pandemic environment and beyond. The nurse innovators with the best idea(s) will receive up to $100,000 in grant funding and access to mentoring from experts across the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies to help bring their ideas to life.

Where does NST come in? Well, my mom always told me, “If you want to help, do what you can with the tools that you have.” As a PR agency that believes in giving back, we are offering our services to help nurses complete their application at no charge. NST specializes in helping people and organizations develop messaging, hone their storytelling capabilities and articulate their vision. Our team has award-winning writing capabilities and decades of storytelling experience, and we have made a commitment to finish out 2020 giving the best of what we have to offer to the nursing community.

If you’re a nurse and you have an idea for the QuickFire Challenge, we’d be honored to help you submit your application. Please reach out to us via email at mkr@nstpr.com to set up your free consultation. Our team of PR professionals will meet with you via phone, or Zoom, to talk through your idea, discuss positioning, identify your core messages, and help package your story for submission. We thank you for your service to our greater community and look forward to helping you tell your story.

As innovators on the frontlines of health care, nurses have the insights, ideas and power to profoundly change lives. Through JLABS, Johnson & Johnson has the scale, financial resources and industry knowledge to help move these new ideas forward. Nuffer, Smith, Tucker brings the messaging, storytelling and presentation know-how to help nurses best articulate and package their unique vision for the QuickFire Challenge. Together, these three elements have the power to drive real, positive change. As an agency, we are honored to use the tools we have to help make meaningful connections and support the communities in which we live, play and work.
