Administrative Assistant / The Office Magician
Tanya Johnson is an administrative assistant and has been with NST since April 1998. For 25 years she’s served as the go-to person in the agency for problem solving a myriad of issues – from IT support to shipping logistics and everything in between. In addition, she is kept busy assisting account teams with a variety of requests and is considered the office magician because she always finds a way to make things “magically” work.
We Asked Tanya …
What’s your favorite tool in the toolbox?
Over the years, I’ve formed several mutually beneficial relationships – from vendors to shippers. That, combined with knowing our history and what we’ve done successfully, helps me excel in managing the day-to-day.
What have you learned so far in your career?
You can’t please everyone and the way you treat people is key. Be kind and people will go out of their way to help you.
What’s your proudest agency moment?
Being here for 25 years, I’ve seen a lot. With Food Foresight, we’ve made a lot of positive changes over the years, but years ago, we had thick 5-inch binders full of 400-page documents that had to be shipped overnight by 5 p.m. Meeting that deadline was stressful, but a huge win.
Where can we find you outside of work?
Outside of work, you can find me looking through a camera lens, enjoying a bottle of wine at my favorite Italian restaurant, and watching the San Diego Padres (Friar Up!).
