Julissa graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) in May of 2023, earning her degree in public relations with a minor in history. During her time at SDSU, Julissa was a Broom Student Fellow and led message development, graphic design and publicity efforts for a PR campaign supporting the Broom Center. As an NST account coordinator, Julissa supports influencer partnerships, social media efforts, media relations and client measurement, while always making time to lend a hand wherever needed.

What’s your favorite tool in the toolbox?
Having just started my career in the PR industry, my favorite tool is asking questions! If I’m not sure about something, I always stop and ask. It’s important to have all of the context and information that is necessary. It’s better to ask than to be left wondering!
What have you learned so far in your career?
Staying organized is the key to efficiently working.
What’s your proudest PR moment?
My proudest moment so far has been creating content for a client’s Instagram account that exceeded their expectations, garnering high impressions and engagement.
Where can we find you outside of work?
Outside of work you can find me at the gym, taking a stroll around the neighborhood, eating poke, or enjoying a Juneshine.
