Take Me Out to the Ball Game (and be sure to tag yourself on Facebook)

Panorama Stadium Shot

Were you one of the lucky ones who attended Wednesday’s Major League Baseball playoff game at AT&T Park between the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies? Regardless of which team you are rooting for (although we do happen to have a couple NST’ers rooting for the Giants; just sayin’), if you were at the game, then head on over to MLB’s website and use Facebook to tag yourself and your friends in the Postseason 2010 TagOramic, a series of panorama photographs created by putting together hundreds of photos taken over a 20- to 30-minute span from each of MLB’s playoff games.

Photographer David Bergman used GigaPan to capture and stitch together 297 photos that were taken during the third and fourth innings. The final hi-res file is 74,580 by 20,406 pixels or 1,522 megapixels. This is such a great example of what happens when cutting-edge technology is integrated in such a creative way with social media. Props to MLB!
