NST President Bill Trumpfheller to Lead Panel on Cali-Baja Region’s “Roommate Agreement”
SAN DIEGO – April 21, 2016 – Leveraging 42 years of business in the Cali-Baja mega-region, Nuffer, Smith, Tucker is sharing its expertise on the impact and importance of binational strategies with the next generation of public relations professionals at the 19th annual conference of The Binational Association of Schools of Communication, also known as BINACOM.
For the team at Nuffer, Smith, Tucker, being in close proximity to the international border with Mexico is not just a matter of geography. The Cali-Baja mega-region influences everything from the different strategies recommended for clients wanting to communicate with a binational, multilingual audience, to the performance and growth of the local economy. Each year, BINACOM recognizes this important relationship by bringing together professors and students from the U.S. and Mexico border region to further establish collaborative relationships and learn about new trends in the industry.
Nuffer, Smith, Tucker has come to understand the impact of the San Diego market’s strategic location and adapted its offerings to accommodate the unique needs of clients located on both sides of the border. To share this expertise and recognize its growing work with binational clients, Nuffer, Smith, Tucker President Bill Trumpfheller will be leading a panel about the unspoken “roommate agreement” between both sides of the border that makes the success of one bode well for the success of the other. The conference – of which Nuffer, Smith, Tucker is also a sponsor – will also provide opportunities for students to present research projects and learn about the profiles of the Hispanic consumer market in social media nationwide. It will be held at San Diego State University April 22-24.
“The influence of the binational region on communications, marketing and economic growth has only grown as technology and infrastructure have allowed for greater exchange between both countries. This new generation of communications professionals will be entering into a marketplace where it will be critical to have an understanding of this relationship and its impact, “said Trumpfheller. “BINACOM has always strived to build bridges between our two regions. We’re happy to expand our longstanding relationship with San Diego State University by sharing Nuffer, Smith, Tucker’s enthusiasm for the role that communications will continue to play in helping build these bridges.”
Nuffer, Smith, Tucker’s focus on strategies for the binational region supports the work of several clients including TEDx Monumento 258, Farmacias Roma and JD Group. The agency has also worked with Tijuana Innovadora – an event highlighting innovation and the potential for growth in the Tijuana region – and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce in their outreach to businesses and industry in Baja and Mexico.
