NST Secures Two National Broadcast Segments in September

ABC News with WD-40 Company for Made in America Segment
Bill Trumpfheller captures the ABC News team filming b-roll footage of WD-40 Smart Straw cans prior to the segment.

September was an exciting month for two account teams here at Nuffer, Smith, Tucker!

The WD-40 Company team worked at an expedited pace to help arrange behind-the-scenes visits for ABC World News Tonight with David Muir to WD-40 Company’s headquarters in San Diego and a b-roll shoot at a packaging vendor in San Bernardino.

Our favorite blue and yellow can was featured in the Made in America segment on the Sept. 14 broadcast, along with a few familiar faces at the end to drive home the Made in America message. Check out the WD-40 60 Years Old and Going Strong segment.

Later in the month, NST’s Challenged Athletes Foundation team hosted CBS News’ Los Angeles-based production team at the inaugural ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championship at La Jolla Shores beach. Carter Evans, west coast correspondent and a fellow surfer, caught up with three participants with different physical challenges to talk about why this first-ever sanctioned event for elite surfers is so important to the sport and adaptive surfers around the world.

I hope you’ll watch the CBS Evening News Disabled Surfers Compete in California segment to learn more about the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s role in the ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championship.

National broadcast media relations efforts takes a lot of planning and background work, and all NSTers involved here have demonstrated stellar efforts on behalf of their clients. Kudos to both client teams!
