For our first Throwback Thursday post, we’re fixating on 1989, the year Kerry Tucker literally wrote the book on public relations. Together with Doris Derelian, Tucker penned “Public Relations Writing: A Planned Approach for Creating Results” (the subtitle later changed to An Issue-Driven Behavioral Approach).
The book provides a conceptual framework for practicing the art and science that is public relations, including guidance on how to properly plan a public relations campaign, develop messages, communicate to media and generate publicity to help an organization achieve business objectives. Now in its third edition, the book is still used in college classrooms around the nation.
