Dog Gone Mess

puppy There was a lot of controversy over the GoDaddy television ad for the big game, which had unprotected dogs in the back of a truck, with one bouncing out and heroically making it home, only to be sold on a GoDaddy-powered website. The ad immediately created a firestorm on social media sites via the hashtag #GoDaddyPuppy after what was perceived as a puppy mill joke. GoDaddy has since pulled the ad, but not before receiving a tsunami of bad publicity. Another example of a brand being tone-deaf in the hopes of attention.

So enter Budweiser, who once again tears at our heart strings with their dog and pony show. Here are three ads that illustrate why we love a “good man’s best friend” ad:
