Derek Danziger, APR, Vice President
Whether acting, writing, playing music or traveling the world, Derek approaches all his interests with a spirit of exploration and creativity. He brings that same passion to his work at NST, and pulls from more than 17 years of experience in public relations, marketing and communications.
Prior to joining NST, Derek served as vice president of marketing and communications for San Diego’s former downtown redevelopment agency, Centre City Development Corporation, from 1999 to 2012.
Derek also spent several years working in the education and public relations departments at SeaWorld San Diego, coordinating international media relations activities for the grand opening of LEGOLAND California, and serving as director of media and public relations for the Super Bowl XXXII Host Committee in 1997.
In 2006, Derek was honored by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), San Diego/Imperial Counties chapter as Public Relations Professional of the Year. He was also named one of San Diego’s "40 under 40" by San Diego Metropolitan magazine in 2002.
A graduate of University of California, San Diego, he earned a bachelor of arts in communication with minors in political science and U.S. history. He is also a LEAD San Diego graduate and served two terms as PRSA, San Diego/Imperial Counties chapter president.
